In addition, you may also adjust the update frequency for the data displayed in the menus: fast, medium, or slow. IStat Menus comes with 9 styles for the menu bar theme (black, blue, fire, graphite, green, pink, purple, red, and white), 2 drop-down themes (dark and light), and allows you to adjust the status bar graph background opacity. “With highly customizable notifications, iStat Menus is an excellent way to know what’s going on with your Mac and to be alerted if a problem is on the horizon.” – John Voorhees, MacStories Note that each menu comes with its own customization options: you can change the way in which the information is displayed or the color palette. In addition, you can create a single menu that combines multiple elements. IStat Menus analyzes and provides usage data and separate status bar menus for the following elements: CPU&GPU, Memory, Disks, Network, Sensors, Battery (if available), or Time (can show the local time for different cities). Once this is taken care of, the menus will be present in your status bar at all times: simply click on the respective icon and the drop-down panel will provide more statistical data. It comprises multiple status bar menus so, right off the bat, you must select the ones you want active and personalize their behavior to match your own needs. Otherwise, I lost USB after waking up from sleep.IStat Menus is a Mac app that provides quick access to this type of information via your status bar. Everything is working!Įdit4: One other thing I had to fix: I extracted my DSDT and made a change to method XWAK to do nothing.

Disregard - works fine in TG Pro, so it appears to be a software issue.Įdit3: Followed the post provided by free_refil and now have USB 3.0 working. There's a guide in progress by RehabMan that shows promise, so I'll probably be working on that this week.Įdit: Forgot to mention in case it wasn't obvious - I'm using the latest Clover build 3270.Įdit2: Found something that doesn't work - Temperature Sensors used to work in Yosemite, no longer work in El Capitan, as shown in iStat Menu. Last thing I need to fix is USB 3.0 - right now everything shows up as a USB 2.0 device. I had to go through the same fixes we did in Yosemite to get this back - refer to this Reddit post My Handoff/Continuity was working at first but then after signing out and back in to iCloud, it died. I also used the audio_cloverALC script to re-enable audio (remember to disable apple SIP or it won't take).

I kept my kexts from Yosemite (FakeSMC, ALXEthernet, AppleIntelE1000e), booted the install USB as well as the first time into OSX using -nv_disable=1 and removing nvda_drv=1 until I was able to update the nVidia web driver, then I removed -nv_disable=1 and put nvda_drv=1 back in. To summarize, I'm using a Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD7 TH motherboard with i7-4790K CPU, 16GB RAM, EVGA GTX 970 GPU, and an OSXWIFI built wifi/bluetooth card driving my Apple Wireless Keyboard and Trackpad as well as maintaining continuity/handoff with my iPhone 6S.
#Istat el capitan upgrade#
My system was working under Yosemite using Clover and I went through the direct upgrade path with minimal issues, but everything is back to a functioning experience under El Capitan except for USB 3.0 which I'll tackle later on when I have more time.
